Trouble with a Bubble

January 28th, 2009

Well Back here again and just got rid of another load of trouble makers. I dont understand why all these people over the age of 50 just go on behaving like they are only 5 years old

Crazy Frenchman named Phillipe

And of-course His darling wife Natawagn.

The other geezer on the right is John. He came for 3 days and we just can’t get rid of him, Think he’s now part of the Establishment

And naturally Da, My darling wife, who just has to get into every photo

Well what with recession and all that we expected everything to be a little bit quiet, but no chance here at THE BRITANNIA, seems the same old people come back again and again, and it’s damn good for the business.

Here we have some really jolly fellows, In the forefront is Al, left us to go take up residence at  alternative accomodation, but can’t stay away, keeps poping back, must be the cheap booze, or the crazy atmosphere

Hiding behind is Helen and hubby. Ho yer and not forgetting Da.

Helen and Hubby are venturing in Laos but will be back in a few days, Gone to get another Visa, so they can carry on funning in Chiang mai (And other places)

Here is Cathey, again with Da, (The posser). Cathey came from Vancouver, Always trouble those Canadians from Vancouver. My God back home they think butter wouldn’t melt in her mouth. This picture tells anothery story.

Not forgot you Cathey Come back soon

Now here is an Old friend of mine, His name’s Mike, but he is better known as Gilbert, Quite the gentleman is Gilbert, that is until he’s had the third beer.

Now would you believe that we actually  caught this guy helping himself to the beer, was he supprised when we caught him on camera. Notcice Da got into this photo also

Good News

January 16th, 2009

Well the new Thai Government just announced

some good new for Tourist yesterday.

They have decided to waiver the charge for a tourist visa in to Thailand. Well maybe this does not make a lot of difference to those arriving on a VISA ON ARRIVAL. But now is the opportunity to get a 3 month visa from any Thai Embassey or Consulate and it’s absolutly FREE. No charge. Don’t be caught out if you’re coming overland from Cambodia, Malaya or Laos. No one as mentioned any change to the 15 day only VIAS ON ARRIVAL at overland boarder crossings. So if you don’t get your Tourist visa from an Embassey or Consulate, your only going to get 15 days on entry at boarders. You’ll still get 30 days if arriving at an Airport.  So save yourself some money and get yourself a 3 month visa for FREE

OK, So what else? Well they are asking the National parks to also waiver the cost of entering the National parks, Which contain some of the most beautiful sceinic spots in Thailand. Oustanding waterfalls, Jungle walks, Hot springs.

Some of the spactacular views of virgin jungle that can bee seen throughout Northern Thailand

White water rafting under a waterfall in Chiang mai province.

SO what are you waiting for? Thailand is welcoming you back.

HAPPY NEW TEAR

January 5th, 2009
Annos Horribly, Well I think that is the way you say it,’ but how else can I discribe 2008? Well it;s gone now and blood* good ridenceto it as well. So 2009 has arrived and here we all are looking forward to another prosperouse new year. No I am not jokeing, things have been that badin 2008 tyhat 2009 just haws to be better. Listen I lost my job, the boss told me the contracts have run out and nothing new coming in, the wife wants a divorce after 28 years and she is claiming the house and the car. The credit card companies keep writing to inform me that payments are overdue, maybe they are short on redies (cash) But I still have this crazy bank writing to me, telling me that 25,000 is mine, all I have to do is say yes, Well why not, it’s not my fault if thier computers down, So yes, YES Blood* YES
If I was 21, I would run of and join the Marienes, go to Afghan or something, If I was 41 I would head for the Himalayas, find a temple and enroll myself in for enlightenment, but hell I am already close to 60, so heading to Thailand to escape the World in the arms of some silk skinned mystic beauty, whoe;s just waitng my arrival. Perhaps Afghan would be safer.

If I had trained as a Mariene, I wouldn’t have needed an airport to arrive in Thailand, YEllow Shirts, Red Shirts, after eight days, one would think maybe brown shirts, 40,000 people, How many loos? Well it was all good fun, that’s according to the new finnance Minister. So Thailand is on its way again, doors open to the floods of Tourist, that have been just waiting to arrive.

Looking back though, we have to admit we have been lucky enough in meeting so many new people and making lots of new friends here at THE BRITANNIA. Garry from England, Hope you find your wallet mate, and get back quick, Oh yer what the doctor say? Brett and Debbie from Auss. So you and the ankle bitters are going to chill out in a bar of your own in Sumui, We don’t need any more competition thanks but good luck anyway. (Pair of Boozers those two). Mike from Canada, whoe’s trying to cooking and is featured on our cooking page and who also suggested I make this blogging page, No more ideas Mike. Darren from England who met a beauty and fell in love right here at THE BRITANNIA. She has another feller mate I told you not to go home. To all our friend from Holland, too many to list all their names. To Mark from Liverpool, who listened to me and is now woundering around the Himalayas looking for a Guru. Om Shanti Mark you can come back when your 60ish. To Lady Lucky, from Vancouver, the delightful hippie lady of the 60s God bless your heart,it;s so full of good things. To the many Sivanada and other Yoga teachers that have just accidently found thire way in to our door, rfor a spiritual top up.

Rarely do we get what we want but we always get what we need, indeed as tiered as we may get, we have been enriched by those that have past our way. THE Majour and Dell Boy who live high in the Himalayas, both craving for a smoke but declineing for fear of the Thai laws, You invited us both back to stay with youi in India, Hope we can make it. To Joe a great Guy and friend who came back twice in 4 months, then married one of our staff, keep working Joe she needs the money. and Congratulations to you both. see you next month. To the rather large guy from California, whoes name I have shamefully forgotten, nonetheless left us for the 36 hour slow baot ride to Laos, who came to us reccomended by Sue whom he met in Peru, Thanks Sue.

To The French tour operator who tried to barter us down on the room rate, I;m a Cockney darling so no chance, but nice try, Bonjour and all that stuff, but we will se you again in July with a fresh lot of  adventure seeking companions, book early darling if you need so many rooms. To that lovely Italian couple from beautifull Florence, nice to meet you and arriverderci.

To the German and Indian chefs that stayed and wanted to play in our kitchen, wounderful food guys your welcome back anytime think they just wanted a busmens holiday really. To that couple from Chillie who went trekking in the jungle back in June. You made a wrong turn somewhwere, we’re still waiting your return, can’t keep the room forever.

To the many Spanish, Italian, Dutch, German, Swiss Ploish, Russian, Isralie, Canadian, Auss, Kiwi, Malay, Chinese, Korean, Swedish Norwiegen, Danish and not forgetting American and Brit guest that have past through our doors, slept in our beds in 2008.

So lucky we are to have met so many though it just seemed like hard work. Making new friends is indeed lucky. Happy new year to all of tou and hope to see you all again, especially the few that run off without paying, well what goes around comes around so Happy New year to you anyway. Steve and Da
